The Johnny Jump-Up
The Johnny Jump-Up is a member of the Pansy family. A small plant, three to five inches in height, it has flat, broad, velvety petalled flowers of various colours. The Johnny Jump-Up is a free flowering plant and self-sowing. Found throughout North America, it thrives in moist woodland soils and blooms from spring to late fall. Although a hybrid, its propensity to self-seeding allows it to be found in abandoned homestead sites.
