The photos fail to describe the textural beauty of these pieces. The photos are intended to illustrate the 'hidden image technique'.
Presented is the same image at two slightly different angles. The image was created by overlaying cast paper substrates with abstracts of coloured bark, sedges and cotton fibers. The resulting image reads differently at varying angles and light. In a constant light environment the images read as decorative compositions. As the viewer moves or the natural light changes the narrative image hidden beneath the surface begins to read. These innovative techniques were first evolved at the paper shop in Ketch Harbour.
