Sweet Clover
The flower of the Sweet Clover is small and cylindrical made up of pea like clusters growing from the leaf axis on stalks four to seven feet tall. The blossom, when crushed, gives off the scent of new mown hay. Sweet Clover is found throughout the North American landscape growing in fields and clearings. Sweet Clover blooms May to October. It is used in pastures to fix nitrogen and is highly prized as forage for honeybees.
