"A Ministry to Canada's Forgotten Mission Field"

"I the Lord have called you in righteousness, and will take hold of your hand:
I will make you as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles,to open blind eyes,to
bring out prisoners from the prison, and those who sit in darkness from the prison house."
Isaiah 42:67

New Song Prison Ministries is made up of a group of mature responsible Christians who have been sharing an exciting ministry in our Canadian & U.S. prisons since December of 1984.

Under the leader ship of Burpee deLong, and his wife Jo-Anne, New Song Prison Ministries has developed into a ministry committed to meeting the spiritual needs of inmates and their families by providing Bibles, testimony books of ex-cons, and other Christian literature as well as a variety of worship services which lift up and glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
New Song Prison Ministries has a follow-up ministry, so when an inmate is released from prison
they are able to go back to their community where there are individuals ready to establish them in the Body of Christ, the Chur ch... They also have a letter writing ministry that enables inmates in many institutions across Canada to receive encouragement in the Lord, by helping them establish a dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ and not the volunteer.   They work closely with the Chaplains in a cooperative manner so as to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ. New Song Prison Ministries are members of Metro Community Chaplaincy, Coalition of Prison Evangelists, and Christian Council for Reconciliat ion. They are contacts for ex-inmates and Prison Ministries across Canada, United States and England, for special Prison services and meetings. If your church or organization wishes to have an ex-inmate speak at your meeting or service, please feel free to contact us. If you are an individual or Church that wishes to get involved in a prison ministry and wishes to have training, please contact us for more information on training courses in your area and how you can get involved in Prison Ministry.New Song Prison Ministries is available for speaking engagements and for music ministry for meetings and services with a "Prison Ministry" or "Youth" emphasis.

"I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU CAME TO VISIT ME." Matthew 25:36b

Hundreds of people turn to drugs or alcohol each day and find they have become chemically dependent and are in a prison of their own doing. This life controlling problem does not discriminate. Many children try cocaine "just for kicks" and thousands of house-wives abuse prescription drugs in an effort to cope with stress, boredom, or loneliness. A rising number of professionals believe drugs and alcohol will help them deal with pressures and sharpen their competitive e dge. Many more use drugs and alcohol to forget the past.
In many communities across Canada, programs such as "Overcomers Support", a 12-step Bible Based program for addictions is available. If you or someone you know is in need of counseling or a support group for your addiction, please feel free to contact us for information on meetings available in your community.

THE CALLING

I was hungry and you formed a humanities club and discussed my hunger
Thankyou.
I was in prison and you crept off quietly and prayed for my release.
I was naked and in your mind you debated the morality of my appearance.
I was sick and you knelt and thanked God for your health.
I was lonely and you left me alone to pray for me.
You seem so holy, so close to God, but I'm still very hungry & lonely & cold.
So where have your prayers gone? What does it profit a man
to page through his book of prayers
When the rest of the world is crying for help?
