For 30
years, the Hostelling International - Nova Scotia trail guide has
been the standard. Goose Lane Editions has joined Hostelling International
- Nova Scotia to present the seventh edition of this definitive guide.
Completely rewritten and updated by Michael Haynes, the Executive
Director of the Nova Scotia Trails Federation, Hiking Trails of Nova
Scotia contains information about plants, animals, geology and human
history as well as up- to-date directions, difficulty ratings and
maps for hiking some sixty trails. Michael Haynes has recently hiked
all of the trails contained in the book and has received permission
to include those found on private property. Included are trails that
will challenge the most serious of hikers as well as gentle excursions
suitable for family outings. Michael Haynes is a regular contributor
to CBC Halifax's Information Morning on the subject of hiking in Nova
Scotia. He is also actively involved in the rails-to-trails project
and the development of the Trans-Canada Trail. |
